Books play a quintessential role in everyone’s life by introducing them to a world of imagination, providing knowledge of the outside world, improving reading habits, enhancing writing and speaking skills, as well as boosting memory and intelligence. They’ve transported us to new places, helped us find solutions to our problems and often provided an avenue to escape reality. For the less fortunate, books are considered a luxury and often not an affordable choice to buy them.
Books and education play a significant role in providing knowledge to people. In many cases, opportunities to avail education are lacking, while in other cases, students don’t have access to books and essential reference materials.
We Grow Forest Foundation has flagged off the Annual Book Collection Drive – 2022. An event is organised on October 2nd, Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrations, to hand over the collected books to Friends Library and Reading Centre, Narikuzhi, Erichalloor, Plamoottukada, Thiruvananthapuram.
We would also like to urge every Ward to have a library and get affiliated with the Library Council once they reach 50 members, 1,000 books, and organise one socio-cultural event monthly.
